During a PHP, you live in your own home and commute to the treatment facility usually 5-7 times a week for treatment 20-25 hours week during the day. Specific therapies vary between treatment protocols in our facilities. Often PHP patients receive treatment as concentrated to inpatient treatment. Most PHP’s consist of a mix of individual therapy, group counseling, testing and sometimes include 12-Step meetings.
Another valuable use for a PHP is when a patient has relapsed, but doesn’t need to go through medical detox, or inpatient treatment. In reality a relapse often signals that the patient needs an adjustment in treatment and concentration. A PHP can put recovery back on-track and interrupt any forces that may be causing relapse.
